Jon Stern is a public policy economist with extensive policy and academic experience.
Jon is an Honorary Visiting Professor at the Centre for Competition and Regulatory Policy (CCRP) in the Department of Economics at City, University of London. His policy experience includes over 15 years in various UK Government Departments, plus advisory roles with UK and other infrastructure regulatory agencies and with the World Bank. He was a Panel Member at the CMA from 2013 to 2018. His academic work includes posts at the London School of Economics and the London Business School plus work in Cambridge with the Energy Policy Research Group, and the Cambridge Judge Business School. He has over 100 publications.
In the 1980s, Jon was a member of the HM Treasury Micro-Economics unit on public investment appraisal and the Treasury Green Book, including cost-benefit analysis, an interest that he has continued since.
