Martin White

Martin is Professor of Population Health Research in the MRC Epidemiology Unit. Trained in medicine and public health, he has 30 years’ experience of research in social and behavioural epidemiology, and the development and evaluation of public health interventions. His present research focuses on generating knowledge to better understand and inform change in the commercial food system in the interests of population and planetary health. He is an expert adviser to the House of Lords Committee on Food, Poverty, Health and the Environment and to The Food Foundation, and is Director of NIHR’s Public Health Research Programme. Martin is presently a Visiting Fellow at the Bennett Institute for Public Policy.
