Melvin Obadha is a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge for the Action Research on Research Culture project. He is a choice modeller with experience in conducting applied research in the health field, in areas such as health technology assessment (HTA), health economics and financing, and health policy and systems research (including health workforce recruitment and retention), particularly in the African context.
He has expertise in choice modelling, consensus methods, multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA), qualitative research, and quantitative methods such as health econometrics and is keen on conducting research that aims to influence policy on research culture.
Melvin read for a DPhil in Clinical Medicine jointly based at the University of Oxford (Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health) and the Kenya Medical Research Institute-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (Health Economics Research Unit). He remains affiliated with the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme as a visiting scientist.
