Dr Nina Jörden is a Research Associate at the Bennett Institute, specialising in the study of organisational structures, processes, and practices. Her research is driven by three central themes:
- Productivity: Nina explores productivity beyond mere cost-efficiency, emphasising the importance of effectiveness and social value in organisational settings.
- Quality of Life: She investigates how work can be meaningful for individuals, organisations, and society, focusing on the impact of work on employees’ well-being and mental health. Her goal is to enhance the overall quality of life through improved work practices.
- Interconnectedness of Productivity and Quality of Life: Nina examines how the concepts of productivity and quality of life are interconnected and how they can collectively improve organisational and societal outcomes.
Her notable projects include advising the Cabinet Office on digital information sharing during the Covid-19 pandemic, studying the emotional well-being of astronauts during space missions, and evaluating the first UK trial of a 4-day week in the public sector.
Dr Nina Jörden holds a PhD in Organisational Studies, an MSc in Human Resource Management, and a BA in Psychology and Management. She is a member of The Productivity Institute and the Working Time Reduction Research Network. She is affiliated with Trinity College.
