Brendan Burchell is the Professor of the Social Sciences in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge.
Bredan’s main research interests centre on the effects of labour market conditions on wellbeing. Recent publications have focussed on reduced hours working, unemployment, job insecurity, work intensity and part-time work. He works in interdisciplinary environments with psychologists, sociologists, economists, geographers, lawyers and other social scientists. For the past few years, his research has mainly focussed on Work Time Reduction / the Four-Day Week.
He has also been Head of Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge and the President of Magdalene College.
