Toke Aidt is a Professor of Economics and Politics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Jesus College.
His research areas include Public Choice, Political Economics, and Economic History. His recent work focuses on four main themes: democratization; corruption and vote buying; political business cycles; and urban sanitation and public health.
He served as Editor of the European Journal of Political Economy from 2014 to 2023 and has received several awards, including the Wicksell Prize from the European Public Choice Society and the Pilkington Prize for excellence in teaching from the University of Cambridge. He is a past president of the European Public Choice Society (2013-2015) and a current member of the Syndicate of Cambridge University Press.
