Ahead of the Government's 2020 Spending Review, Professor Diane Coyle spoke on BBC Radio 4 Today (Saturday 21 November 2020) about how government departments will change the way they assess investments to deliver key policies including the levelling up agenda.
“Revisions to the Green Book will change the techniques government uses across all departments to invest in large projects. Part of the appraisal process will be to align with key governmental policies, whether that’s investing in levelling up or green infrastructure. There is a sense of prioritisation that should make a difference to the geographical location of investment.
